Español: Barcos de la Armada de Estados Unidos anclados, mientras personal civil y de la Marina utilizan mangueras durante los esfuerzos de limpieza en la isla Smith, en Alaska. El derrame masivo de petróleo responsable de este desastre ecológico, tuvo su origen cuando el petrolero comercial Exxon Valdez encalló mientras transita aguas del estrecho del príncipe Guillermo, el 24 de marzo de 1989.
English: U.S. Navy Mechanized Landing Craft (LCMs) are anchored along the shoreline as Navy and civilian personnel position hoses during oil clean-up efforts on Smith island. The massive oil spill occurred when the commercial tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground while transiting the waters of Prince William Sound on March 24th.
