English: English translation: "In the 30 Thirty Years' War on April 27th of 1632 count Ernst Mansfeld, Protestant general, met troops of the Catholic League under general Johann Tserclaes, Count of Tilly, in the battle of Mingolsheim. Therein more than 2000 mercenaries died, countless numbers were wounded. Mingolsheim was reduced to ashes on that day. - Peace is the task of our time. - Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker" |
