English: A U.S. Navy Sikorsky HO3S-1 helicopter (BuNo 124350) of Helicopter Utility Squadron 1 (HU-1) "Pacific Fleet Angels" takes off from the afterdeck of the battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) off Korea on 14 April 1953. The upraised green flag signifies that the pilot has permission to take off. The crash crew, in yellow helmets, is standing by, with fire hoses ready.
