Описание
English: A patient undergoing x-ray treatment for tuberculosis in 1910. The lead shield around the tube limits the rays to the chest area of the patient, but no other precautions are taken against overexposure; the dangers of radiation were not recognised at the time. The source says the normal treatment for tuberculosis was 7 to 10 minutes exposure, 3 times per week. The x-rays were alternately applied to the chest and the back to reduce skin burns.
