English: Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (Feb. 4, 2005) - Gunner's Mate 3rd Class James Rutherford cleans the ammunition belt on a MK-38 25mm machine gun system he mans while standing port-side watch aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87). The Mk-38 25mm machine gun system is a single-barrel, air-cooled, heavy machine gun capable of firing 175 rounds per minute. Mason is conducting operations in the Persian Gulf as a part of Destroyer Squadron Two Six (DESRON 26) and the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) Carrier Strike Group (CSG).
