Popov Variation

On https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_chess_openings_named_after_people we can read "Popov Variation of the Ruy Lopez – 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a5 – named after Bulgarian correspondence player Popov".

MFH, sadly we still don't have an article for Георги_Попов_(шахматист) due to lack of referrences. The few I can find mention him as "the first republican champion of Bulgaria in correspondence chess", but that's pretty much everything. Сале (беседа) 17:34, 12 март 2024 (UTC)
