English: The Shugart Associates Minifloppy disk drive was introduced on August 27, 1976 with an initial list price of $390. Each 5.25 inch diskette held 90 kilobytes of data and a box of 10 cost $45. This advertisement ran in the September 1, 1977 issue of Electronic Design magazine.

Tradmarks of Shugart Associates. The stylized "SA" logo was first used in commerce on July 20, 1973 and became a registered trademark on December 9, 1975. (Registration Number 1027032.) The "SA" trademark was cancelled on May 4, 1982. The word mark "MINIFLOPPY" was first use in commerce on August 27, 1976 and became a registered trademark on June 21, 1977. (Registration Number 1068047.) The "MINIFLOPPY" trademark was cancelled on November 15, 1983.
