Primarily Selenge is a river in Mongolia and Russia. This hydronim existed centuries before the aimag with this name was founded. So are you sure the name Селенга was not established in Bulgarian? This class of rivers usually is present in encyclopedias or geographic vocabularies. If you agree with the person Сухе Батор (traditional name form) as aimag/city name, so why the Селенга river is a different topic? Bogomolov.PL 21:11, 16 ноември 2008 (UTC)

It cames from Russian definitely, but nobody needs change this river name - it is Russian river too, it feeds Baikal lake. But if we know established name for the river, why we need a new transliteration? Bogomolov.PL 21:48, 16 ноември 2008 (UTC)

Сухе Батор

As you know, dear Дан, en:Damdin Sükhbaatar (de:Damdin Süchbaatar, mn:Дамдины Сүхбаатар etc.) is one of the most important figures in Mongolia's struggle for independence. The usual rule for wikipedia articles naming is: person is first and if city, province, craft, small planet etc. were named in this person honor we have add description (city), (province) and so on. That is why I've added appendix (city) to the Сухе Батор article name, as this article is intended to be not about this national hero but about the city named in his honor. I think my edit was more constructive then your revert. Just now I don't see any practical reasons for this your act, but I guess you had a serious motivation. I think, my edit was routine (as with Чойбалсан (град)). I hope you understood my position for the standart article naming. Bogomolov.PL 19:11, 18 ноември 2008 (UTC)

His name will never be transliterated as Сухе Батор, so don't worry about ambiguity. The article would be Дамдин Сухбатар and there you go. --Дан 19:16, 18 ноември 2008 (UTC)

Yes, we should try to respect them. For example, by not wikilawyering. The purpose behind the rule you cite is to avoid naming conflicts when a single name is shared by a number of objects. Since the name of the city in Bulgarian is different than the name of the person, I don't thing a disambiguation suffix is necessary. --Daggerstab 19:30, 18 ноември 2008 (UTC)

But why different?

Renaming of Сухе Батор is based on a new transcription rule? Just now, you see, in .bg web this person was known as Сухе Батор/Сухе-Батор only. Any changes? If so - we need change every toponims (city, aimag).

* Ако има утвърдено българско име, за име на статията се използва то (например Париж).

* В противен случай имената се транскрибират на кирилица (по произношение).

Сухе Батор (person) name was established in Bulgarian. You need very relevant sources to change this fact. The city and aimag names are secondary - if it is a relevant source changing established name next we need change city and aimag names too.
