Georgi Petrov is a bulgarian footballer, born in Plovdiv on 7 February 1991. He plays as lateral defender, both on left and right side. He is famous for his ability to play with both feet, his speed and endurance.

He began his career in the academy of Spartak (Plovdiv) after being spotted in local school tournament. After one year he was spotted and signed by FC Botev 1912 (Plovdiv) where he played in 6 consecutive seasons. His team played final for the Bulgarian Cup in 2006/2007 season, which lost 1-2 to FC Naftex (Burgas). He was anounced as one of the most perspective young players in the academy but was released after the bancrut of the senior team in 2009.

In the 2010/2011 season he played for the semi-profesional side FC Vitosha in the South-Western V football group (Югозападна „В“ аматьорска футболна група 2010/11). He scored 3 goals in 12 games. Shortly he was called up for trials with turskish second division side Altay Spor Kulübü from Izmir. Due to relegation of the club to the lower league, he signed with another Izmir team - Karşıyaka SK. and was loaned to the affilliate team of Idarespor. The team was runner-up in Izmir BAL Lig and has won the play-offs. On the next year he signed with Bucaspor and was loaned to the affilliate Sirinyerspor. The following season he was part ot Istanbul Genclerbirligi in the semi-professional division. After visa problems he returned to Bulgaria and joined the first division team ФК Марек 2010. After short period there, he joined Septemvri Sofia.
